OTHER SERVICESOperationRepair ServicesComputer Diagnostics: we want you to know what is wrong with your computer and what it will take to fix it. We discuss this with you when you drop off the computer, but we also call after diagnosing it to let you know about anything else that we were able to see from the tests. At this time we will also let you know what the cost for repair will be.Computer Clean-up: we will run tools that will remove all malicious items from your computer to enable the best performance from your computer. We install all windows updates and optomize the computer.Operating System Re-install: there are times when no matter what we do, the operating system is so damaged from the viruses, etc. that it must be reinstalled. Although this in itself can be a pain for our customers since it is like starting over with a new computer, the benefit is the computer will run like a new computer. If we have to reinstall the OS we will contact you to see if there are files that we can backup for you (pictures, music, etc.). Any software programs or specialized hardware that you use will need to be reinstalled.Spring Cleaning: this can happen any time of the year. Computers get slower as we use them. This is because every web site we visit and every document we open fragments the hard drive and leave temporary files on the computer. Our spring cleaning service will take care of all the tasks that most people do not have time to run, making the computer faster and more reliable.BusinessMaintenance Support ContractsSomething new that we are offering is maintenance contracts available for consumers and businesses. When you have a contract, you pay a fee in advance in case something goes wrong. For some, this is the best option and their computers will perform better in the long run.Our contracts are available on a monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly billing cycle. The contracts cover computer optomization and repairs to the Operating System, along with all updates and backups*. The maintenance contracts cover labor for repairs, but do not include hardware. They cover all virus's and malicious software removal and installation of the software that we use to clean it up. This software is free for consumer use and run's whenever your computer is on to keep you safe. And as long as your contract is in effect, you can request this service any time you feel your computer is getting sluggish.Our service contracts will allow you to concentrate on what is best for you, whether it be spending time with your family and friends, or keeping your business running productively.*Pricing varies based on the number of computers per account and the services required, so if you are interested in a Maintenance Support Contract, give us a shout and tell us a little about your special circumstances and we will provide a quote for you based on your needs - not someone elses.We also are able to work remotely for some repairs. This means that we access your computer from our location using a secure server. We can manage many maintenance functions in this manner, allowing you to skip bringing the computer into the shop. They will also be backed up on disk for your security.Photo Archiving: In 2010, an Independent Study Revealed Nearly Half of Americans' Photographic Histories Will Disappear. The digital age has made paper photographs almost obsolete, but we all have them. What happens when incliment weather or acts of nature make us leave our homes? We cannot possibly take everything that is important to us and the chance we will loose our cherished photographs is a heart retching thought. We will scan and archive your photographs, making a backup on disc or flash drive. Then when you have to leave, you can take them all with you because they fit on something so small. When you purchase a store bought computer it is loaded down with numerous software programs that you may not want or need. Not only is this wasteful, but the start-up on the computer is already bogged down and making the computer at less than optimum performance.In a store bought computer, the hardware is what it is - no options for better components. Instead they sell you on an extended warranty for the system.At RST Computers we use hardware that we have tested (not just for performance, but also for warranty and customer service from the manufacturer when needed) and have confidence in it being the best available. Most hardware that we sell carries a three-five year manufacturer warranty - and we cover the first year. This is something you would pay extra for with that extended warranty contract at the big stores. So when you price a system through us, the cost may be minimally more but the parts will be better, the warranty will be better, and we will back our work with a one year in store warranty, and additional manufacturer warranty.
